Volunteers play an important part at The Greenhouse at Barnes Close by providing essential support and services that help us to look after so many aspects of what we do at The Greenhouse.
Not only that, volunteers are part of our community, receiving as well as giving to the life at The Greenhouse. Their work here is meaningful, benefitting both the individual and the community.

Our beautiful grounds and gardens are such a essential part of what is so special about The Greenhouse; and they are entirely looked after by our volunteers.
On a recent volunteer day, volunteers created this Prayer Labyrinth out of cut logs for our visitors to use.

Our volunteer community is growing!
We have had five new volunteers join us in March that are helping us to look after our gardens and grounds. We also have a new volunteer who works in the grounds every week to help keep everything looking tidy. This is in addition to our wonderful volunteers who have supported us for a long time, in particular Roger who leads our grounds activities.
So far in 2026 (until the end of March 2026) we have received over 90 hours of volunteer time, with plans to add to this with an admin volunteer, a social media role and a housekeeping role coming soon.
Thanks to all our wonderful volunteers for their time and energies, and we look forward to welcoming more to join us very soon. With much thanks to our wonderful volunteers!
