Volunteers supporting our Greenhouse Community
Volunteers play an important part at The Greenhouse at Barnes Close by providing essential support and services that help to create a sense of community as well as practical roles which are important to the daily life here.
Our beautiful grounds and gardens are such a essential part of what is so special about The Greenhouse; and they are entirely looked after by our volunteers.
The involvement of volunteers ensures that their work here is meaningful, benefitting both the individual and the community.

When can you volunteer?
Volunteer Mondays (second Monday of every month) are our dedicated volunteer days. We also have a group of volunteers once a month on a Sunday afternoon, and we are able to offer volunteers opportunities during office hours Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays at arrangement.
Volunteer Mondays
We have monthly ‘Volunteer Mondays’ for volunteers to join us between 10am – 4pm, All are invited to join our lunchtimes, bringing their own lunches with an opportunity to join lunchtime prayers.
Our Volunteers Mondays are on the second Monday of every month. For 2026: March 9th, April 13th, May 11th, June 8th, July 13th, Aug 10th, Sept 14th, Oct 12th, Nov 9th, Dec 14th.
Could you be a volunteer?
From our Board of Trustees to hospitality, housekeeping and grounds maintenance the contributions from our volunteer’s are all valued. Our Volunteers come in all ‘shapes and sizes’; all faiths and none, all levels of skills and experience. We hope you can find your place as a volunteer.
